Well, the best of both worlds is what can be most easily & appropriately said about “Z”. Repeatedly, Historically, and the Pride of the Herd!
Grazie (for those who can’t pronounce it, you can just call her “Z”) is named for many significant events. First and foremost, how grateful I am for the chance meeting when I was just 19; of my husband and his 10 week old Golden pup, George, when they moved into the man cave next door while attending CSU in good old Fort Fun! No less grateful am I for my good friend & fellow breeder, Arden, for choosing to use old peasant George on her precious girl Willow. Who would’ve known this litter would be her last.
Grazie was one of three “pupscicles” bore out of a frozen semen mating by George long after he passed away; and even longer since his precious seed was collected! His peasant jewels remained frozen for oh so many years, right next to Sudsy’s famous Dad (the all time winningest GR in history) “James”.
Z and her sisters are resurrections of a life long past.
Though George was not a show dog, and Suds was all flash & beauty; the temperaments of each have prevailed in “Z”. George’s brains, Suds’ willingness to please, and the innate obedience potential contributed by Grampa River, Z easily attained her first two Novice Obedience & Rally titles, even with my pathetic and under-rehearsed training! When Z and I entered the rings in Spring 2010 I had not competed in obedience since our first Champion Maggie, CDX in the early 90’s. Not 6 months would pass before Z garnered a third title to her name; steadfastly holding up the “family reputation” as an Endeavors overachiever!
Now it’s time to settle into securing the jewels (Thanks “Jewels”, for passing the torch to Willow BTW); and see to it that the peasants and the blue bloods reign as One Herd, Under Dog here at Golden Endeavors! Watch for Z’s kids in 2011!!!!
Hey Georgie: Cheers to you Ole Man!
