| The decision to acquire “Marti” as a stud fee pup from my dear friend, Jane was an easy one! Though not a Golden “breeder”, Jane pondered producing pups from her beloved pet “Missy” because she felt that Missy was one of the finest quality Goldens of her time. I would have to agree. |
|
| Low and behold, when Jane visited me for evaluation of this breeding to our beloved “blue blood” champion “Ripple” (see Endeavors Ripple in Still Water), we discovered that Missy was more than just fine. In fact, while reviewing her pedigree I discovered she was the granddaughter of the accomplished local Champion & stud dog, “River” Meadowpond River to the Sea; but also is descended from the sister of our very first Golden, “George” (see Mozel Tov Curious George). George was acquired by my husband, John, in 1983 as a pet, when he embarked on his college days at CSU just weeks before we met and fell in love. |

| Wow, a double windfall! The man and the dog! And now, the best of both worlds landed right in our laps again! This beautiful Ripple daughter, Marti, also descended from our original Golden that started all the crazy obsession so long ago! So from that litter, “Marti” was chosen for her head style & personality which emulated her gr. gr. gr. Uncle George! Marti is fondly seen as the first of “Georgie’s Girls”….Endeavors “This one’s for the girls” by Martina McBride was chosen as the theme for Marti to represent a new generation that unites “old” and “new”; modern girls with their good ole boys (& fondly remembering days gone by). A mix of blue blood show dogs, and a little bit of down home redneck, brewed to perfection in this 25 year Endeavor! |

| Marti is a traditional looking golden; carrying some leg length, some size and appearing “common” or “typey” as one visualizes the Goldens “around town”. She isn’t so fancy like some of our show stock, but she has no less beauty! She has a delightful stable temperament; as can be deduced from the picture entitled, Motorcycle Marti. She is a willing traveler, retriever, house pet, hiker, worker, show dog….Anything you want to do, she’s game! Most of all Marti has the personality of the quintessential classic Golden Retriever. She is EZ to have around, endearing, eager to please and even more eager to play fetch! |
