Sheryl A. Cammarata, M.S.
|
Sheryl began breeding Golden Retrievers
in 1985 and has consistently, throughout her career,
incorporated her education and scientific knowledge
into the art of breeding Goldens, puppy raising
and training, and exhibition.Having finished multiple
breed champions, including, BISS Ch. Kanosak’s Goldendeavor
of Nome, Am-Can CDX, TDI (“Maggie”) and Ch. Forever
Killians Irish Red (“Suds”), and having also trained
in obedience, field and therapy-dog work, she is
no stranger to the learning process and hard work
that results in these accomplishments. Born and
raised in Massachusetts, Sheryl’s love for animals
and nature brought encouragement by her family and
counselors to attend Colorado State University’s
pre-vet/animal sciences undergraduate program.She
graduated in 1985 majoring in Biology, and concentrating
in genetics, animal behavior, husbandry, and reproduction;
with a minor in psychology.Choosing a career in
Molecular Biology as a Research Associate, Sheryl’s
first job and subsequently her masters fellowship
was in human orthopaedic research at Loyola University
Chicago. After a few years at Abbott Labs, Sheryl
returned to Colorado, this time bringing her closer
to the animals she loves in veterinary orthopaedics
at Colorado State University. Now focusing on the
health and training of the canine athlete, professionally
handling dogs, and offering other support services,
Sheryl continues to unite her love for the canine
competitor and veterinary orthopaedics, and share
her enthusiasm with other purebred dog fanciers. Her
goal is to kindle sound athletes; able to excel
in all areas of competition….including “house-pet
extroidinaire”! |

Golden Endeavors Support
|
Thanks to the support of many people,
Golden Endeavors is able to provide a broad range
of professional services. This could never be accomplished
without the participation of family: John Silverstein.
Often acting as the indestructible dog toy, John's
support is critical to the daily care, feeding and
attendance to facilities and maintenance matters
at Golden Endeavors. John is responsible for Sheryl’s
introduction to Goldens, when he purchased our first
purebred “George” in 1983.Though John does not typically
attend nor exhibit at shows he is closely involved
with the care of all residents and visitors at Golden
Endeavors. |
